A vehicle’s discharge lines are the means by which it emits vapors and gases into the air around us. The United States Environmental Protection Agency states that if your vehicle is stationary for more than one minute, then it uses more gas idling than it would if the engine was simply shut off, and restarted again when necessary. If you’re in a traffic jam, think of the environment and shut off your engine. Switching to biofuel can also make a huge difference to the amount of harmful pollution that your vehicle emits. Biofuels are made from natural resources, such as vegetable fat, and are commonly added to fuel, such as diesel, in order to lower the level of toxic hydrocarbons being used, and emitted, by your car.

What Other Problems Are Caused by Vehicular Discharge Emissions?

A further aspect of environmental pollution caused by car emission is the way that it affects animals. Wildlife and farm animals are defenseless against the effects of pollution; it gets into the water that fish live in, and into the grass that animals, like horses and cows, survive on. Warming up the world might not sound like a bad thing, but studies now show that for every one degree Celsius increase in the planet’s temperature, around 1,000 extra deaths are recorded annually. These are most commonly connected to respiratory illnesses, aggravated by the increase in temperature. Although car emissions are not solely responsible for this, they continue to loom largely on the road to global warming.
